“from start to finish our guide fauz gave us the VIP treatment. he told us all about the trip and the locals. he even told us about a private tour and could wash the Elephants in the River if we would like to and rang ahead to sort it out. when we arrived our private tour guide was waiting and told us all about the Elephants and what they did at the sanctuary. the whole experience was amazing. we were allowed great access and met and fed most of the Elephants. on the way back we hit a lot of traffic but our driver still took us to the Batu…”

“I loved this tour. our guide Rama Chandra was a polite and lovely guy. Originally we were supposed to do Batu caves first but he suggested we do them last as the caves had too many people. So, we managed to do the deerland park, elephant sanctuary and the caves much at peace without being rushed at all. For me, the highlight was the elephants. For the first time I felt in an elephant conservation place that the elephants were actually happy. No injuries from stick poking, playful all the time, very active also. They genuinely seemed well taken care of (no chains either) I got to bathe the elephants…”

“I was very skeptical about this tour to the elephant sanctuary. I am very cautious about animal tourism and saw some comments that this sanctuary was animal exploitation. I enjoyed our visit and learned that the sanctuary is still new (30 years old) and learning from other elephant sanctuaries in India and Thailand. And that they have stopped doing things like elephant rides recently because of what they have learned. The sanctuary relies on tourist to fund the care of these elephants in need. We took the private tour and I felt horrible for the sanctuary because they have struggled since Covid. If you love elephants I recommend a visit.…”

We loved the visit to the Elephant Sancturay, made special by the relationship Kumar has developed with the guides. Kumar had pre-planed a new treat for the Elephants which meant they were very happy with us when we fed them :-). I would recommend Kumar and his Jova Travel to anyone who wants to be looked after.”
